They are too sweet. They are more emotional than I want a dude to be.

They suspect pretense. As if they are being nice for a reason only.

... social engineering?

13:45 Jun 16 2010
Times Read: 831

Driving to Ellesmere Port my Father came out with a remark that gave me pause to think: ‘the financial crisis has been created to bring Europe down to the level of the middle east.’ Now I happen to believe that ‘they’ practice social engineering. Just look at what Thatcher tried in Chile with her ‘friend’ the dictator Pinochet, as a prelude to what had been intended for England, as proposed by an economists bright idea’s. The problem arose when it failed in Chile. Heck, America and Britain have messed around with the politics of other countries, for many decades: perhaps Dad is right?

... formalized religion??

13:43 Jun 16 2010
Times Read: 832

Since the dawn of time Man has wanted more than what he has Now. Initially he drew animals and warriors on his cave walls, and then he drew representations of an afterlife. Man seems to need to know there is more than there is: which to me seems reasonable, as we’re here such a short time, see what’s wonderful; and then it’s all gone… Perhaps that is why we need belief, which leads to the need for formalized religion??

Changed?

15:39 Jun 10 2010
Times Read: 848

Shortly before the last election I recall Cameron extolling his parties virtues and, repeatedly saying, “We’re not the old Conservatives.”

The ‘Old Conservatives’ are the ones I recall so well’ they’re the one’s under Thatcher, who closed our mines, destroyed our unions, sold off our oil, deregulated the banks and allowed the conditions that created the MP’s scandal.

The ‘New’ Conservatives get into No.10, with a Liberal Democrat coalition and, then what do I see in the Metro on the 9th June 2010, Cameron inviting Thatcher into No.10 with a beaming smile.

... kept distracted?

21:52 Jun 09 2010
Times Read: 863

Thinking about the speech Cameron made the other day about the cutbacks that have to be made, a thought struck me: ‘the bankers started this mess, in part due to their deregulation and, the people are going to have to pay again, ’

Vaunting globalisation as the great thing, Thatcher’s lit killed off our industry and unions, so where is the industry now, to rebuild, to pay back this debt, that it’s said will increase by millions, as we pay off the interest.

And, all the while, the poor will get poorer, as they get used to a lower standard of living and, private industry is seen as the saviour, whilst it’s similar thinking about the bankers that got us to where we are.

And meanwhile, the rich and the super-rich get richer investing their money abroad, while we continue to have wars, we can ill afford to have.

And Simon Cowell is awarded, for keeping us distracted, from thinking about the speech Cameron made the other day about the cutbacks that have to be made.

Needless to say, it won’t be his kind who suffer, it never is.

Think back in time, to the days of the Somme and the War To End All Wars: more men got killed then than during the Second World War. And, the main reason were the generals, who stood back sending horses against tanks, men with bayonets against machine guns; all in feet of deep mud, as they were assailed by cannon fire.

Meanwhile, the generals would live the Vida Loca, as men died for a few yards of muddy ground, littered with the bodies of their comrades, injured, dying and dead.

Poor men died for the rich then, as we will be made to suffer, to keep them rich now.

... with a pen-knife?

00:15 Jun 04 2010
Times Read: 890

So I get in from voluntary work to water the back lawn, and then cook my own tea; and, Dad’s watching a documentary about the little boats, that helped save so many lives at Dunkirk, in 1940.

“I had an uncle there,” he tells me; “well, my Mother’s brother.”

He then adds, “He had to take a man’s leg off, with a pen-knife, in his dinghy…”

And Dad doesn’t lie.

I think I was watching that too. A pen knife? Yeesh, no one today could do what they did back then. Not by a long shot. Just shows you the amount of courage our troops had to win the war.
